Hey delegates! I'm Aitreya and I turned 16 in October, a Grade 10 student at Overseas Family School. I started participating in MUN in Grade 4 and went to my first formal conference in Grade 6. Since then, I have served as a delegate at more than 12 conferences, including two in DISEC. I am honoured to be chairing DISEC for the issue of Regulating the deployment of autonomous naval systems in disputed maritime zones for the fourth time. I'm excited to meet you all, serve as chair, and appreciate your thoughtful discussion, creative solutions, and creation of a committee atmosphere that is both very fruitful and entertaining for everyone.

Hi! I’m Joshua Wong, a 15-year-old student in Grade 10 at the Canadian International School. I have been pursuing MUN for three years now, having undertaken numerous positions as delegates, chairs, and secretariat members, providing me with a deep understanding of all facets of the Model UN experience. In my time in both the Singapore circuit and abroad, I have explored multifarious committees across a range of committees. However, with my very first conference attendance being in DISEC, it has always felt like home. As geopolitical tensions continue to rise day by day, I feel a deep responsibility to ensure that youth not only understand the complexities of these issues, but more importantly, engage with their potential solutions. I look forward to serving as head chair of DISEC and cannot wait to meet you all in November.

Hello, my name is Atharv Dua and I am currently in Year 11 at Tanglin Trust School. Throughout my MUN experiences I have attended around 10 conferences to date and each and every one has provided me with a different viewpoint on various interesting topics that face the world. DISEC is one of the committees I find most interesting as in this day the world’s nations must learn how to work with each other instead of standing against each other. I am looking forward to meeting you soon as your deputy chair for the upcoming conference.
